Music Festivals
Levada Festival on August, 1-3. The place is located on the shore of the Dnister River between Stariy Sambir and Sambir in Lvivska Oblast.
The Participators of the festival are Ukrainian bands, such as Skryabin, Rusychi, Orkestr Yanki Kozyr, Yukresh, Burdon, Dyvni, DrymbaDaDzyga, Berkut from Poland, and a youth folk group from Luhansk. The program of the festival also includes a number of activities such as bicycle tours and Deruny festival (Deruny are traditional Ukrainian potato pancakes).
The same days of August the another fascinating festival will be held in Crimea. There will be Barricade on Tuzla Festival. The main purpose of the festival is uniting Ukrainian, Belarusian, Russian and Crimean Tatar cultures. The Festival lasts for three days and going to be located each day in a different place, starting at Simferopol, the second day in Kerch and the last one in Tuzla Islands. The event includes theatre performances, literature readings, and other unusual disciplines that go under the name of a contemporary art. Being on the Black Sea shore visitors will enjoy the sea coast, summer sunshine and other Crimean charms.
The third annual ProRock festival will be held in August, 2-3. The place for the festival is the Yunist central Stadium in Konotop village, Sumska region. Ukrainian bands VV, the Pan Puppets, Rage (Germany), Rasta (Belarus), Devilish Impressions (Poland), Pilot (Russia) and others are coming for two days festival. The campsite will be provided.
”The right to be free” is the slogan of “Be Free” festival which is coming in August, 8-10. For three days Lviv is going to be a platform for holding this international Rock Festival. There will be several stages working simultaneously: one is for rock music, and another one is for folk music. The organizers of the festival promise the music groups from Belarus, Poland and Ukraine.
Banderstat alt music Festival in Lutsk will attract all lovers of Alternative Culture in August, 9-10. The bands of the festival are Inkanabula, Heart Attack, Komu Vnyz, My Father Drinks, Huch, Sla, Anna, Pomylka & Rezydenta and Resnulius. Apart from enjoying the music there is expected the graffiti competition, the shooting competition, the ‘fighting hopak’ competition and the literature readings, as well as take some guitar lessons.
On of the biggest annual event is Sorochynstsi Crafts Fair which is going to be in Sorochyntsi village of Poltava oblast. The Fair is planned to be hold in August, 13-17. It’s the tenth anniversary of this fair, which has become a picturesque cultural open-air event attracting more and more guests each year. From the ancient time Sorochyntsi was a land of country fair, which kept the tradition of colorful festival till nowadays, growing to the traditional folk craft, Ukrainian music and dance, and of course Ukrainian cuisine.
